On the side of Lake Como at Colico, outside seating provided the perfect back drop to our first evening meal in Italy - Pizza was excellent; well priced and there was a huge choice. The gelato for dessert was amazing!! The staff were attentive but not too attentive and we felt OK to eat at leisure. The ducks, swan, sparrows and pigeons were very entertaining too! A great start to this leg of our journey. ”

The views, however, are stunning: you can admire the snow-capped Alps while enjoying traditional Italian dishes like pizza and pasta. Service was cheerful and friendly, every waiter greeted us warmly, and the Italian student in our group was able to order smoothly in Italian. English was also spoken well by all the staff. Dinner for three with drinks came to around €70, so this is not the best choice for budget travelers. The terrace, beautiful scenery, and tourist-oriented dishes push the prices up. ”
